scary recycling (lec wk 5)

When using social media, people generally have to accept terms and conditions in order to join such a network/s. What they don't normally do though, is fully read these terms and conditions stating what the network might or might not do with your own private personal information. That's the catch. Although not all websites will filter and recycle your information, there is a good chance that some of them do on the other hand. Often even if you have uploaded a media, such as videos or even photos, when you think that erasing them they will gone forever off the internet, your wrong!
The network often keeps on files as cookies, for a duration of time, and then gets rid of them, so who knows what they may do with you personal files. Scary huh.

Another point to consider is what will they get out of using your personal information? It freaks me out to an extent. They could make somthing out of it, stick it on youtube, Flickr perhaps, without you knowing, and possibly get money for them, or even selling your photos globally. Having second thoughts now about what you place on the web? People often forget what the 'www' stands for the beginning of an address, which is 'World Wide Web,' and that's exactly how these get distributed... WORLD WIDE! All I can think of that would be the worst thing to put out there on the web would be, your own porn, if you don't put that on the web, you may be lucky.
